The Lake

Living in Colorado is beautiful and we love it, but it is so dry. It is so hard to get  to water.  We took advantage of our vacation to Kentuckiana by swimming nearly every day. We went to pools, lakes, creeks etc. Our favorites were the lakes. We enjoyed Buffalo Trace Park-- disk golf, playing in the sand, diving on the diving board and floating on our floaties. A great day!

Nothing compares to Rough River though... We enjoyed Appa and Poppa's boat with family and friends...

Happy Independence Day

We spent Fourth of July Weekend at the Cherry Creek Art Festival. We love this place. We took our girls and our adopted girl and spent the day in the heat. It is wonderful to see the artists from around the country and get inspiration. Good food... shopping... and art... perfect.

We also love love the children's craft tables. We made little drums, windsocks and mosaics..

D got me this red circle necklace for our anniversary from a fabulous little jewelry booth. I love it!

We watched fireworks from the deck with our friends. We had the best seats in the house for the Air Force display. The kids kept calling the finale a "finatalie". We had a blast...

sum..sum...summertime

 We have loved having Lesley and the family here this week. We packed tons of stuff into one week, and wished for the millionth time that we lived closer. It was a nice vacation for all of us.

Take me Out to the Ballgame...

D got great tickets for us for the Rockies Game. We had a wonderful time snacking and cheering for the home team. It was the first Major league game for G, M and A  I was so glad that the Rockies won! A great day at Coor's Field

We spent the morning doing spring cleaning on Memorial Day. We rewarded ourselves with some frozen yogurt and an afternoon at the park. Freckles was way into her book, Red Pyramid and she spent a good deal of time on the blanket reading. Cookie has been waiting and waiting for summer. She asks me everyday if it is summer yet... can she wear flip flops yet?  We hauled those sand toys out and then found out that this playgound is covered in wood chips instead of sand. It was a big disappointment, but she adjusted.



Happy birthday to you...Let's go to the zoo

We celebrated Sara's birthday at the zoo. It was  perfect day with friends. Cookie and I loved the bird habitat. She had a pretty yellow fella land on her stick and treat himself to some  birdseed. It was a great moment.... it didn't last long though, cookie can't be that still.

No trip to the zoo is complete without seeing the giraffes. They can make anyone smile. We missed Freckles though, giraffes are her very favorite.
