Maya's foot

Last Tuesday M injured her ankle. She rolled it on some rocks in our yard playing with the neighbors. Even though it wasn't very swollen she limped around for days. Knowing her propensity for the dramatic, Dad and I told her to suck it up. Last Friday, We decided it needed to be looked at and had her in to the Doctor. The radiologist saw something on her growth plate that was concerning and sent us to a specialist. The specialist was Dr. Siegel, Cookie's club foot doctor. D took her this past Thursday for another x-ray etc. Apparently it is a sprained ankle and foot and there was some damage to the growth plate. Freckles is in a brace and is supposed to stay off of it. We have to watch that that growth plate doesn't fuse together and cause growing problems for her ankle. The worst news is that she is not going to be able to play volleyball this fall-- a big disappointment to my little Misty-may wanna-be. My little limper has leveraged her injury well and has gotten out of chores for the last two weeks. We are hoping for a speedy recovery!

Wait...I thought that she hurt her ankle when she made that time machine to the paleolithic era and got trampled by those dinosaurs.
